Why does my USB Flash Drive appear to have only 5 MB capacity?

When your USB Drive was password protected with Carry it Easy Plus, your USB Flash Drive is
split in two partitions (public and private partition). The public partition is always visible with the
CarryItEasyPlus.exe and the Lost&Found.html file. This partition is the one visible to you with
only 5MB in size. The private partition with the larger capacity will only be visible when you log
into the private partition with your password, because here all your confidential data is stored.

After updating Carry it Easy I cannot start CarryItEasy.exe anymore. What can I
do?

During the liveupdate process a problem has occurred and now CarryItEasy.exe is corrupted. You
might receive an error message saying " CarryItEasy.exe is not a valid Win32 application".

To fix this error you have to download the latest version of Carry it Easy Plus to your Desktop or
any other location on your PC.

After the download is finished, run the CarryItEasy.exe from your Desktop or wherever else you
have saved it to, while your USB Flash Drive is connected to your PC.

Carry it Easy will start showing you the "Device Security Settings". You should choose > No
Password Protection required > Provide old password > OK.

After fixing this error please delete the copy of CarryItEasy.exe that you have saved on your
Desktop or PC and only start Carry it Easy Plus directly from your portable storage device.

USB Flash Drive?

liveupdate over the Internet.

lose all data from your USB Flash Drive.

Why can't I format my USB Flash Drive with Windows?

You can't format your USB Flash Drive as long as it is password protected with Carry it Easy Plus.
To format your USB Flash Drive you have to first change the security setting with Carry it Easy
Plus to no password protection, and then you can format your USB Flash Drive with Windows or
any other formatting program. To change your security settings go to the "Change Security
Settings" Option in the login window or to the "Security Settings" in the Main application window
and set the security settings to "No password protection required".

You must close Carry it Easy Plus and any application that uses files stored on your USB Flash
Drive before you can safely remove it (including Windows Explorer). If it still doesn't work, please
wait for a moment and try again.

Why are there two letters in the Windows Explorer menu when I only have one
USB Flash Drive plugged?

This only appears if you chose to divide your USB Flash Drive into a public and a private zone.
One letter represents the secured partition and the other is the public partition of your USB Flash
Drive.

Carry it Easy Plus doesn't start, but I get a message saying "Please plug in your
USB Flash Drive and start Carry it Easy Plus again!" even when I have my USB Flash
Drive plugged in?

Normally you just need to unplug and replug your USB Flash Drive from your computer and after
doubleclicking CarryItEasyPlus.exe again, the application will start. This issue is known and caused
by hardware detection and formatting issues related to USB Flash Drives.

Does Carry it Easy Plus run under Windows 98?

Carry it Easy Plus doesn't run under Windows 98! Only Windows 2000 and Windows XP are
supported.

Why is my 128MB USB Flash Drive shown with a capacity of 120MB?

Your USB Drive capacity is shown with a lower capacity, because your USB Flash Drive has also to
hold the Carry it Easy Plus application and therefore reserves some space on the USB Flash Drive
for it, which is not shown to you. Even without the Carry it Easy Plus application your capacity will
never be fully available since some space on the memory is occupied with other necessary data.

Why can't I drag-and-drop files in the secured partition when im not logged in?

You can move files to the secured partition only after logging in to Carry it Easy Plus. Only the
person who knows the password can access and modify the content of the secured zone.

Can I access my Internet Explorer Favorites on my USB Flash Drive also with my
Firefox browser?

Yes. Carry it Easy Plus will automatically convert your Internet Explorer Favorites into Firefox
Bookmarks when you start No Trace Browsing with Firefox.

Why does Carry it Easy Plus write the surfing information on my desktop instead
of my USB Flash Drive?

Carry it Easy Plus doesn't work correctly if your USB Flash Drive is write-protected using either a
hardware switch or another software.

Why does it take so long to synchronize My Documents?

In case you have a large number files selected in My Documents it can take a few minutes to
synchronize them between your USB Flash Drive and your computer, because many read and
write process to and from your hard drive and to and from your USB Flash Drive are required.

from the bottom left corner.

computer Firefox is not installed, can I still access my Bookmarks?

when No Trace Browsing with Internet Explorer is started.

Why does my anti-spyware program report a browser hijack attempt when I use
the "No Trace Browsing" function?

When the "No Trace Browsing" function is activated, Carry it Easy Plus takes the History, Cache,
Cookies folders and puts them on the USB Flash Drives. The data related to surfing will be stored
on the USB Flash Drive. This is why your anti-spyware reports a browser hijack attempt. When you
disable the "No Trace Browsing" function, Carry it Easy Plus will restore the original setting on the
host computer.

What language does Carry it Easy Plus support?

Carry it Easy Plus is available in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese,
Russian, Dutch, Danish, Polish, Romanian, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

If you surfed the web for a while a lot of web-related files are stored on your USB Flash Drive and
it can take up to a few minutes to delete all of them.

Why does it take so long to change my security settings to (NO) PASSWORD
security?

If you have many files (for example hundreds of Internet Favorites) on your USB Flash Drive and
you change the security settings from password protection to no password protection, or the
other way around, it is required to first move all these files from your USB Flash Drive to your Hard
Disk and then, after the security settings have been changed to move the files back to your USB
Flash Drive. So in case you have a large number of files or a slower USB 1.1 connection, it can take
a few minutes.
